SENIOR STYLE GUIDE

CONGRATULATIONS! You did the hard part. You've gotten through twelve long years of homework, extracurricular activities, school assemblies, studying, and finals. (And hopefully, you found time to make lots of fun memories along the way, too!)

You've earned it. You're graduating. Now it's time to celebrate! Make sure you always remember your twelfth year with a professional high school senior portrait session. Senior photos are the best way to capture and share your excitement about graduating and finishing such an important chapter of your life.

At Khim Higgins photography, I want your senior experience to be one that you will remember for years to come. I hope you will come to feel more like a friend than just another photography client. I'll be there every step of the way to help you prepare for your session, show off what makes you uniquely you, and get some timeless images you can't wait to share. LET'S GET STARTED!

FOUR TOP TIPS FOR A

picture perfect

SENIOR PHOTO SESSION

Whether you're already comfortable in front of the camera or you're more on the camera-shy side, you should look and feel your best during your entire senior photo session. Here are four ways to prepare beforehand for a great photo shoot experience.

1.  Wear Clothes You're Comfortable In.
Throughout your photoshoot, you'll be posing in different ways - sitting, standing, walking, jumping, etc. If you're wearing a dress that you're constantly adjusting because it doesn't fit right or shoes that pinch your toes, it'll be difficult for you to relax and really live in the moment. Wear an outfit that you can move comfortably in and that makes you feel good about yourself.
2.   Look Your Best -Whatever That Means For You.
Try to look nice for your senior portraits - but make sure you still look like you. Dress up a bit, but don't wear a dress or a suit if it's something you don't usually wear. It's great to put on some makeup to help your features pop in front of the camera, but don't pile it on if that's not what you usually do. If you feel your best, you'll look your best.
3.   Choose A Photographer You Can Trust.
Selfies work fine for your Instagram story - but they just won't cut it when it comes to your graduation announcements. Look for a professional photographer who specializes in senior portraits. Take a look at their portfolio to make sure you like their style. As long as your photographer knows what they're doing, they'll be able to make sure you look great and feel comfortable.
4.   Location, Location, Location!
If you're a little nervous about spending so much time in front of the camera, choose an environment that makes you feel at home. Pick a photo shoot location that's significant to you. Khim Higgins Photography has a lot of experience with helping her clients select the perfect location for their shoots. She has a location guide prepared for her clients.

HOW TO SHOW YOUR

PERSONALITY

AT YOUR

SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: your high school senior portraits do not have to look just like everyone else's. In fact, they shouldn't! There's only one you. You're unique, and so was your high school experience. Every high school senior should infuse their senior session with their interests, style, and unique personality. Here are a few ways you can do that!
Bring Props
Show off what you love to do and what you're best at by bringing a few props to your shoot. Did you play in the orchestra? Bring along your violin. Did you play high school soccer? Grab your cleats and a soccer ball. Did you star in the school play? Bring along your tap shoes or the hat you wore in the role. Don't be afraid to make your photos your own!
Wear a Favorite Outfit
Don't dress like someone you're not. Resist the urge to go out and buy a brand new outfit for your photo session. Instead, wear something you already love. Dress in an outfit that makes you feel great, shows off your individual style, and expresses who you are. If you're a dancer, bring your favorite dance costume.

THE FLOW

My goal is to provide you with photos that capture the real you, make you look your best, commemorate your senior year, and help celebrate your many accomplishments.

1.  CONSULTATION
Set up a 15 minute consultation over the phone, zoom, or I can meet you in person. During this time, I will provide a thorough overview of services and address any questions you may have. Also, this will serve as an opportunity to evaluate if we are a good fit to work together.
2.  BEFORE THE SHOOT
Next, I'll schedule your shoot date. I'll give you tips on how to prepare, what to wear, choose the perfect location, and help you feel and look your best. You'll also have my number so you can text or call me at anytime!
3.  SHOOT DAY
Please arrive 10 minutes early. I schedule all my shoots around golden hour so it's important that we start on time to take advantage of the beautiful golden light. Bring everything you need: outfits, shoes, accessories, props, and anything else you think you may need. I don't want you to be nervous on your shoot day. I want you to be excited! I'll show you how to pose and what to do from start to finish. All you have to do is show up and get ready to have fun!
4. THE REVEAL
A few days after the shoot we will meet again for about an hour. This is when you will watch a slideshow of all your images. There's usually  a lot of oohs and aah going on as well as tears from mom. At this appointment is when you will place your order. I offer classic prints, gorgeous leather albums, wall art, and digitals. I'll help you customize each piece of wall art and personalize your album. These products are professionally crafted and they make the perfect keepsake for mom and dad and grandparents.

If you feel that you are ready to book you can book online now! I’ll get in touch with you afterwards to arrange a time for our consultation. Looking forward to connecting!
