Orlando senior beach photo shoot has become increasingly popular with high school seniors. Senior Beach Photo Shoot provides a unique and different feel for senior photos and seniors these days want to be different and have their senior photos stand out from their friends. Beach photo shoots are not only a fun and enjoyable experience but they also serve as a way to create lasting beautiful memories for both the seniors and their families. In this blog post, I will share my 10 years of experience photographing seniors at the beach and will offer tips and tricks for a successful senior beach photo shoot!
Choosing the right location and setting for a senior beach photo shoot is important in order to capture beautiful photos. When selecting a beach, it is important to consider factors such as the scenery, lighting, and accessibility. In Orlando, there are several beautiful beaches to choose from, including Cocoa Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and Daytona Beach.
Cocoa Beach is known for its pristine white sand and clear blue waters, making it an ideal location for a senior beach photo shoot. The perks of Cocoa Beach are easy parking, a nice pier, sand dunes, and boardwalks. These areas provide a different backdrop and adds variety to a beach session. New Smyrna Beach offers a more secluded and peaceful setting because it is usually quieter. What I love about this beach is the free parking that is close to the beach. I also love that there is a boardwalk and a jetty with lots of big rocks adding a different element to the shoot. Daytona Beach is another popular choice, with its iconic pier and vibrant atmosphere. This beach also has a pier and the boardwalk offers a colorful and fun backdrop for senior photos.
Being on the east coast we can only catch beautiful sunrise and not sunset. Therefore, almost all of my senior beach shoots take place in the early morning hour at sunrise. It is super early to get up and drive one hour to get to the beach but it is really worth it! Another reason I prefer to shoot at sunrise is to avoid people on the beach. The experience is so much better when you feel like you have the beach to yourself. Plus the morning glow from the sunrise provides the most flattering light for photos. One important detail I have learned from 10 years of experience is always check the weather. If it is not raining I still need to check the wind speed. If the wind speed is too high, I will reschedule the session.
Preparing for a senior beach photo shoot involves more than just showing up on the day of the shoot with a few outfits. I fully prepare my clients on what to wear and what to bring for a success senior shoot. Clients are advised to take certain steps to ensure that they look and feel their best during the shoot. One of the most important aspects of preparation is getting enough rest and staying hydrated. This will help seniors look and feel their best.
Many seniors may feel nervous or self-conscious during a photo shoot but I’m experienced to help them ease their nerves and before they know it, they’ll smiling and giggling with me. It is important that I capture their natural beauty and personality for mom. All moms enjoy watching their daughter having fun and loving their senior photo shoot experience.
Choosing the right outfit for a senior beach photo shoot is crucial in order to achieve a cohesive and visually appealing look. When selecting an outfit, it is important to consider the colors and patterns that will complement the beach setting. Light and pastel colors tend to work well on the beach, as they create a soft and ethereal look.
Seniors should also consider the style and fit of their outfits. Loose and flowy clothing tends to work well on the beach, as it creates movement and adds visual interest to the photos. It is also important to choose clothing that is comfortable and allows for ease of movement.
Accessories can also play a role in enhancing the overall look of the photos. Hats, sunglasses, and scarves can add a touch of personality and style to the photos. However, it is important not to overdo it with accessories, as they can distract from the main focus of the photos, which is the senior model.
Hair and makeup play a crucial role in enhancing natural beauty and creating a polished look for senior beach photos. When it comes to hair, seniors should opt for styles that are simple and effortless. Loose waves or loose curls create a soft and beautiful look that complements the beach setting.
Makeup should be kept natural and minimalistic for a senior beach photo shoot. Seniors should focus on enhancing their features rather than covering them up. A light foundation or tinted moisturizer, along with a touch of blush and mascara, can create a fresh and youthful look. It is also important to consider the weather conditions on the day of the shoot and choose makeup products that are long-lasting and waterproof.
To get the entire senior photo shoot experience I highly recommend seniors to consider professional hair and makeup for the shoot. A professional hair and makeup artist can provide a beautiful and flawless look for the senior. And when the senior looks good, she will feel amazing. This confident will be captured in every shot! So professional hair and makeup is worth it!
Posing and Direction: Tips for the Seniors
Seniors do not have to worry about posing. It is my job to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera. I will provide clear instructions on what to do from head to toe and down to the finger tips as well as facial expressions. This includes guidance on where to stand, how to position their body, and how to interact with the surroundings.
By creating a positive and enjoyable surrounding, I am able to can capture natural and authentic moments.
Capturing stunning senior beach photos involves more than just pointing and shooting. Paying attention to lighting and composition are important in order to create gorgeous and impactful images.
Lighting is one of the most important factors in photography, as it can make or break a photo. The golden hour, which occurs during sunrise or sunset, provides soft and warm lighting that is ideal for beach photos. Sunrise rises very quickly so I work fast to capture the warm glow. With experience I am able to direct and give professional guidance on how to pose as well as capture candid shots during the short time of sunrise.
Composition is another important aspect of capturing stunning senior beach photos. Framing is important to create visually stunning images as well as knowing which angle is the most flattering on your senior. Again, this skill comes with many years of photographing seniors.
Editing and retouching are included in every session. While it is important to capture natural beauty in the photos, editing can help enhance certain aspects such as color, contrast, and sharpness.
When editing senior beach photos, it is important to maintain a balance between enhancing the image and preserving its authenticity. Seniors should still look like themselves in the photos, with minimal retouching on their features. It is also important to avoid over-editing, as this can result in an unnatural and unrealistic look.
My editing style is consistent with my portfolio. My editing is clean and classic. I find that this style will stand the test of time. Trendy editing will not last so going with the classic, clean look will always be a winner in my book.
