Graduation at the University of Central Florida isn’t just about walking across the stage — it’s about celebrating every step that got you there. As an Orlando Graduation Photographer, I’ve photographed hundreds of UCF grads, and one thing is always true: the campus is full of amazing backdrops that make your photos feel just as special as the day itself.

If you’re planning your grad photos, this guide will walk you through the top 10 photo spots at UCF that capture school spirit, beauty, and your personality. Whether you want something classic, fun, or totally unique, there’s a place on campus that will feel just right for you.

Top 10 UCF Graduation Photo Spots on Campus

1. The UCF Reflecting Pond

The UCF Reflecting Pond is one of the most iconic and in-demand graduation photo spots on campus. The flowing fountain makes it perfect for classic cap toss shots, champagne pop celebrations, and even playful moments with duck floaties in the fountain. Because it’s such a favorite for grads, it’s often the most crowded location during peak season — so booking early morning or weekday sessions can help you snag the perfect shot without the crowds.

2. Millican Hall

Millican Hall is the face of UCF. With its classic columns making it feel formal yet welcoming. Many grads love walking down the stairs, holding their cap or tossing it in the air. It’s also a great spot for parents to join in for a few family portraits.

3. The Pegasus Seal

Located inside the Student Union, the Pegasus Seal is a symbol of pride — and superstition! (If you’re not familiar, legend says you shouldn’t step on it before graduation day or you risk delaying your diploma.) It’s the perfect place for a traditional cap and gown photos.

4. Memory Mall

Memory Mall offers a mix of open space and beautiful palm-lined pathways. It’s a versatile spot for everything from solo portraits to big group photos with friends. The open field can also make your champagne pop shots extra fun — no need to worry about spraying anyone nearby.

5. John C. Hitt Library Steps

The newly renovated library is sleek and modern, perfect if you want a more contemporary look. The wide staircase leading up to it naturally frames you in the photo, giving a confident, “I did it!” vibe.

6. Addition Financial Arena

If you’ve spent time cheering at games or seeing concerts here, the Addition Financial Arena can add a personal touch to your session. The bold arena sign is great for statement shots — especially for grads who are proud of their UCF sports spirit.

7. The UCF Knights Statue

Knightro and the UCF Knights monument are pure school pride. These photos make for great announcements and social media posts. Whether you pose with friends or solo, you’ll capture the spirit of being a Knight.

8. Engineering II Murals

Want something with a pop of color? The murals near the Engineering II building bring an artistic edge to your photos. They’re perfect if you want to mix traditional graduation poses with something fun and creative. You can learn more about these campus art installations from the UCF Public Art Collection.

9. Lake Claire Boardwalk

For a peaceful, nature-inspired feel, Lake Claire is your spot. The boardwalk stretches over the water, making it a beautiful location during golden hour when the light dances across the lake. It’s perfect for grads who want a softer, more natural background as well as a quite place.

10. The Lined Palm Trees

One of the most photogenic areas on campus is the perfectly aligned palm trees near Memory Mall. The symmetry is striking, and it naturally draws the eye straight to you in the center. It’s simple but impactful, making it a go-to spot for timeless grad portraits.

How to Make the Most of Your UCF Graduation Photoshoot

  • Book early – Grad season is busy, and the best time slots go fast.

  • Plan more than one outfit – Your cap and gown are essential, but adding a second look can give your gallery more variety.

  • Bring props – Champagne, confetti, balloons, or even your decorated grad cap.

  • Schedule for the best light – Early mornings and evenings give you the prettiest, softest light.

  • Get creative – Bring your personality into the shoot. Laugh, dance, toss your cap — these moments are magic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much are UCF graduation photo shoots?
A: My UCF graduation sessions start at competitive rates, depending on the package you choose. My packages start at $325 and we visit multiple spots on campus for photos.

Q: How many locations are included in a UCF graduation session?
A: Typically, I include 3–5 locations within walking distance to make the most of our time. That way, you get variety without feeling rushed.

Q: Who is the best UCF Orlando graduation photographer?
A: While I’d love to say me (and my clients often do!), the “best” photographer is the one whose style and personality match what you’re looking for. You can view my portfolio and see why so many UCF grads choose me.

Q: When is the best time to take UCF graduation photos?
A: About 1-3 weeks before your ceremony is ideal. You’ll have your photos ready for announcements and avoid the biggest crowds.

Q: Can I take photos inside UCF buildings?
A: It depends on current campus rules and building hours but most of the time if the building is open we’re allowed to photograph there.

Q: What should I wear under my gown?
A: Something that makes you feel confident — dresses, suits, or even UCF colors for extra school spirit. With that said, most senior guys prefer to wear a nice pair of slack and a white dress shirt with or without a tie. Senior girls look great in a little white dress which contrast well with the UCF black cap and gown.
